RINGS
Buying Guide
When you
want to buy rings you have plenty of choices. There are large chunky rings, very simple
plain bands, and lots in between. The length and size of
your finger plays an important role in determining what will
look the best. Even the length of your nails makes a
difference.
If you
have long fingers, almost any style will look terrific on
you. If you have thick fingers, huge oversized rings look
fantastic on you. However, if you have long, thin fingers
avoid these types of rings. Oval or round settings soften
the look and are great on long, thin fingers. Also wider
bands look great on long, thin fingers.
If you
have hands with short fingers, the ring styles that look
best on you will be ones where the setting stays within the
first knuckle. If you go past the first knuckle, it will
make your fingers look even shorter. Oval or marquise shape
stones make your fingers look longer and are great for this
type of hand. Round solitaire settings are great because
they are simple. If you choose a large ring, try to get a
dome shape with a high setting so it does not overpower your
hand.
BRACELETS Buying Guide
There are
infinite types of bracelets to choose from: bangles, toggles,
cuffs, etc. It is important to measure your wrist size prior
to buying a bracelet to make sure that it will fit
correctly.
If you
are under 5'4", bangles flatter you. Number of narrow
bangles will look much better than one wide one. If you are
5'4"-5'7", wide bracelets are better suited to your frame
and will look nicer than narrow ones. If you are over 5'7",
you can wear any type or size of bracelet except very
delicate pieces. You should wear several thin
bracelets together or a couple of wide ones.
One thing
to also remember is that if you have nice hands, a smaller,
thinner bracelet will draw the eye down to the hands,
especially if you are also wearing a ring. If you
aren't fond of your hands, wear a larger bracelet which will
draw the eye away from the hand.
